Another extra from DJ Buzby

Yes, it’s all new for 2019!! I am now the owner of a Selfie Wizard. What is that I hear you say? Well, do you remember the days when there were disposable cameras on the tables and the wedding couple or party organiser collected them at the end of the night and had the photos developed? Well, this is the 2019 high tech version of that. So people can upload their selfies from the telephone to a screen in the venue and at the end of the evening (or next day) I send the special couple or party organiser all the photos which were uploaded to the Selfie Wizard from their guests. That’s not all - It can also be your message book as well because guests can also write their best wishes and messages via their phones. A great new addition.

Do we have a ProDub licence?

Absolutely! ProDub is a licence issued in the UK by PRS for Music, which governs the copying of music from any format to a digital format. For example, if a DJ copies CDs to a hard drive in order to play them using a laptop. Or changing the format of a downloaded track. Or changing the structure of a digital file in any way. Unfortunately there are a lot of common myths surrounding ProDub, especially amongst ill-informed venue managers who consider that all digital DJs require a licence. This is not necessarily the case. We understand the remit of the licence and understand how to manage digital music collections. Please request to see sight of our ProDub licence where necessary.

Can I have coloured wall lighting?

Absolutely! LED uplighters or mood lighting will make a huge difference to your venue. Visit our coloured wall light blog post here for more information. I also have a mood lighting video to give you some ideas. Please copy and paste the link into your web browser: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPAyJo3aCmQ

How much does your disco cost?

As each event is different, I do not have a ‘fixed’ price list on the website. I prefer to discuss your individual requirements before I provide you with a price which more accurately reflects your personal event.

How do I book you?

Following the initial conversation or completing the “Bookings” page on this website where details are obtained and a personalised quote has been provided and agreed, I will send you two copies of a confirmation which sets out the details discussed. This should be checked carefully by you and if everything is in order, we request that you sign one copy and return this to the address supplied. Once returned, this date is guaranteed to be secured for you. Information regarding cancellation fees can be found on the ‘Special Stipulation’ sheet which is also enclosed.

Can you recommend a Wedding band?

Yes, I’ve worked alongside a very popular Essex band called Cushti and cannot recommend them enough. Please view their website here.

How long does it take to set up and take down your equipment?

In general it takes approximately one hour to set up the equipment and about the same to take it down..

Can I choose the music that you play?

Yes, if you wish. I can send you a music request form which will allow you to list your preferred music genre and favourite tracks. This is also good for me, as I will then have a flavour of the type of music that you like. Similarly, there is a provision on the form for music you do not want played!

I’ve just been quoted £100 from another disco can you match that?

Like any other business, prices will vary when you shop around. My prices are based on my experience, professional standards and satisfied customers. If a price seems too good to be true then we would strongly recommend you check the reputation and obtain references from any mobile disco charging so little.

A professional disco can make an important event such as your wedding reception. An inexperienced DJ or one who lets you down at the last minute can ruin an otherwise perfectly well organised day. It is unwise to choose your mobile disco purely based on the cheapest quote. It may prove to be disastrous, and you should consider many other factors when choosing a suitable mobile disco, rather than deciding on price alone.

Our reputation is your guarantee!

What is included in your fee?

The fee is based on the details discussed and agreed with you. If you wish me to continue beyond the agreed times, and is also permissible by venue organisers, an additional hourly charge will apply and this will be discussed and agreed by the organiser before continuing.

I will provide you with a professional sound and lighting system, together with my professional services and a wide and varied music selection.

Can you recommend a great wedding venue?

I am a preferred supplier DJ and many venues around the Colchester area. In the centre of Colchester is the BEST WESTERN Rose and Crown Hotel is a historic and even more importantly, romantic place to celebrate your big day at. They are licensed for Civil Weddings and Civil partnerships, so you can enjoy the whole day with us. - See more at: Rose and Crown Hotel. How will the DJ be dressed?

Professionally! I will discuss prior to the event the required dress code for the evening. If your event requires a formal dress, I will of course wear a shirt, tie and jacket as necessary. However, if you are hosting a themed night and wish me to enter into the spirit of things, this can be arranged. For 18th and 21st birthday parties a more informal look may be more appropriate.

Can we meet with you?

Of course! I can meet with you at your home, place of work or venue if you prefer. This will give us the opportunity to meet prior to your event and discuss any requirements you have.

How will I pay you?

For peace of mind, both yours and ours, we will request a deposit to secure your booking with us. The balance will be due two weeks prior to your booking date and can be made via Bank Transfer.
